Full-text Document Retrieval: from Theory to Applications Nl-text Document Retrieval: from Theory to Applications

Since more and more information becomes electronically available, there is a growing need for full-text storage and retried technology that supports both high-quality and interactive performance. In this paper some research efforts in the area of full-text document retrieval are being presented. After discussing a high-quality retrieval mechanism, we first describe a compression technique for the efficient storage of full-text retrieval data. Next we introduce our parallel InfoGuide system, which could be used as a Wide Area hformation Server. Finally we present the NeursBrourser, an interactive application that deals with large and dynamic information streams.
