A Cooperative Physical Layer Scene-Awareness Scheme for Visible Light Communications

In this paper, we develop an object detection method that takes advantage of the blockage status of line-of sight (LOS) links between the user devices and transceivers on the ceiling to locate an object. The target objects are modeled as cylinders with random radii. Simulation results show that the root-mean-squared error can be less than 2 cm and 1 cm for estimating the center and the radius of the object, respectively.
