The present invention relates to a user adaptive image compensator. The user adaptive image compensator comprises a feature extraction unit, a compensation image generation unit, an image selection unit, and a preference parameter update unit. The feature extraction unit extracts features from an input image. The compensation image generation unit generates compensation preference parameters based on a preference parameter, performs compensation on the input image based on the compensation preference parameters, and generates a plurality of compensation images. The image selection unit displays the compensation images to a user, outputs one of the compensation images selected by the user as an output image, and outputs a selected one of the compensation preference parameters corresponding to the selected compensation image. The preference parameter update unit updates the preference parameter based on the selected compensation preference parameter and the extracted features.
