Eddy-current modeling and flaw reconstruction

A model is presented for the inversion of eddy-current data and the reconstruction of flaws. The model is based on rigorous electromagnetic theory, and uses a multifrequency approach to make it truly three-dimensional. Algorithms for solving the discretized equations are presented, and the numerical problems involved are discussed. The processing of laboratory data from actual flaws is presented, with the results of these reconstructions shown as grayscale images.
