DESIGN OF TRACKING SYSTEMS FOR A CLASS OF MULTIVARIABLE LINEAR SYSTEMS WITH SLOW AND FAST MODES

Abstract In this paper, theoretical results are presented which provide a basis for the systematic design of tracking systems for a technologically important class of of multivariable linear systems with slow and fast modes. Systems of this class comprise a linear multivariable plant and a linear multivariable actuator with small but unknown time constants. These general results are illustrated by designing a tracking system for a double-integrator plant driven by an actuator with two small time constants.
