A New Nonlinear Excitation Controller for Synchronous Power Generator

This paper presents a new and simple controller for transient stabilization with voltage regulation of a synchronous power generator connected to an infinite bus. The overall stability of the system is shown using Lyapunov technique. The design of the proposed controller takes into account the important non linearities of the power system model and it is independent of the equilibrium point. Simulation results have been shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller for the enhancement of the transient stability and voltage regulation of the power system under a large sudden fault and a wide range of operating conditions.
