Research on the receiving and radiating characteristics of antennas on high-speed train using integrative modeling technique

In railway wireless communications, the transceiver properties of train antennas would be affected by the complicated environment. In this paper, an integrative modeling technique which involves FDTD method and PML technique is employed to study the receiving and radiating characteristics of nine monopole train antennas with environment considered, such as the locomotive, steel rails, earth plane, conducting wire for power supply, etc. The results show that by this integrative modeling technique, the field parameters in free space can be associated with the circuit parameters at antenna terminal directly and actually.
