Wireless Power Transfer with Receiver Authentication using ECC

Wireless power transfer (WPT) technology is getting enormous acceptance around the world for various applications. It has gained vast popularity as it solves a lot of problems that are existing in the wired charging primitives. If there is no authentication protocol, the power can be stolen by unauthorized devices. This paper proposes a cryptographic solution to save wireless power from being stolen by unauthorized receivers. The paper proposes an elliptic curve cryptographic (ECC) scheme to authenticate wireless power receiver for receiving electrical energy transmitted by a transmitter, ensuring security. A key-agreement protocol between a wireless charger (transmitter) and a device (receiver) is established to provide feasible security for wireless power transmission.
