Spectral characterisation of polarisation dependent loss of optical components using optical single sideband modulation

Proposed is a novel technique for high resolution spectral characterisation of polarisation dependent loss of optical components, based on an optical single sideband with suppressed carrier modulation. Experimental measurements are performed to demonstrate the technique.
