A high performance traffic flow forecasting and management method: Traffic simulation platform

With the rapid development of the economy, contradiction between the supply and demand is becoming increasingly prominent in transportation system. In order to balance the contradiction, traffic simulation which can maximum excavate existing road potential and provide scientific management schemes for enhancing the efficiency of road network becomes the important technical support of urban transportation. However, the ability of traffic simulation is highly constrained by the static traffic flow data. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of the traffic simulation platform for better traffic flow forecasting and management. Unlike traditional traffic simulation software, the traffic simulation platform can interactively deal with the real-time traffic flow data. In the paper, we analyze and study the architecture design, data processing module and functional module of the traffic simulation platform. At last, the paper gives a practical application for proving the feasibility of the implementation of the platform.
