Studying contrast transfer function of remote sensor with physical simulation system

Abstract A physical simulation system is developed for studying the characteristics of targets and backgrounds in order to determine the parameters of remote sensors. A scaling zoom model is constructed, allowing us to change the light condition, camera parameters and the target/background. The values of the contrast transfer function with respect to different targets and backgrounds are measured based on the scaling zoom model, and the results are compared with the values of the calculated contrast transfer function.
