A Phase Angle Jump Estimator to Improve the Convergence Time of Synchronization Schemes

This paper presents an algorithm for detecting and estimating phase angle jumps in the fundamental-frequency positive-sequence component of a three-phase signal. The estimated angle is then used to accelerate the transient response of synchronization schemes. The method is based on the transient analysis of the GDSC operations. A detailed mathematical analysis of the of the proposed scheme, its performance is evaluated through simulating several typical disturbances of three-phase systems. Experimental results are also provided to validate the proposed algorithm.
