LIVE CAPTURE OF FREE-RANGING PRIMATES WITH A BLOWGUN

Two species of free-ranging ptimates, white-handed gibbons (Hylobates lar) and crab-eating monkeys (Macaca fascicularis), were ane1sthetized employing disposable l-cc syringes modified into darts and shot through a blowgun. The method is more economical, qLlieter, and safer than capture guns using explosive charges.
