TRIP TIMING AND CHAINING. IN: TRAVEL BEHAVIOUR RESEARCH. THE LEADING EDGE

Trip timing and trip chaining are both concerned with the organization of a set of activities; the organization is based on spatial and temporal elements. The main objective of studies on trip timing and chaining is to better understand the travel behavior and to improve transport models with better behavioral rules and data. Improved understanding and the ability to predict travel behavior will help policy makers to design policy instruments that better respond to and influence travel behavior, and thus achieve better management of more efficient and sustainable transport system.
