Fractals in Engineering: From Theory to Industrial Applications
暂无分享,去创建一个
Research in Fractal Analysis is expanding into a variety of engineering domains. The strong potential of this field has already been observed in real industrial situations, and new connections between theory and applications arise constantly. It is the purpose of this volume to show the most recent advances in the domain of fractal applications. There are exhaustive reviews on theoretical research in such domains as multifractal analysis, iterated function systems and fractal random processes, which lead to new applications in signal processing and chemical engineering. A large part is devoted to the interplay between fractals and waves, and other topics featured include image compression and rough surface analysis. Several new domains are also presented, among them network traffic analysis, financial engineering and environmental science. "Fractals in Engineering. From Theory to Industrial Applications" is a versatile, multidisciplinary book which exhibits the most recents results in industrial applications, and should be of interest to all scientists working in areas connected to fractals.
