Selecting environmental assessment tool for buildings

Environmental assessment and rating of buildings have grown increasingly during the last years. For building owners or developers is it often possible to choose between a national rating or ratings which are internationally marketed, such as LEED (US), Breeam (UK) or Green Star (AUS). These methods have the advantage of being well known and to some extent facilitate international comparison. On the other hand, they may be poorly adapted to national climate, building techniques and building regulations in comparison with national tools.
