Method and apparatus for controlling auto frequency offset setup for interlocking repeater

The present invention relates to a method for controlling frequency setting which can utilize an existing repeater when a frequency is changed in a mobile communication environment in which a base station and a repeater overlap. According to the present invention, the method for controlling frequency setting to utilize an existing repeater when a frequency allocated to a base station is changed in a mobile communication network environment in which the base station and a repeater overlap comprises the following steps of: (a) measuring an uplink signal for a mobile communication terminal in the overlapped mobile communication network coverage; (b) determining whether there is a frequency band on which the measured signal intensity is less than a predetermined limit; and (c) setting a different frequency band as the location of a physical random access channel (PRACH) when there is a frequency band on which the measured signal intensity is less than the limit.
