Développement et validation d'un nez électronique portable

We have developed an autonomous gas detector (electronic nose) with low weight and small size for real site applications such as air pollution control. The main part of the system is composed of commercial metal oxide sensors and a microcontroller as control and analysis units. The description of the prototype functionalities and the characterization equipment are presented. The performance of this electronic nose is tested first in a laboratory study by using gas mixtures and then in a real site for odour evaluation. Obtained results are very satisfactory and well correlated to other olfactory technique indications.
