Epidemiology of secondary amenorrhea

From a random sample of the total female population, aged 18 to 35 years, within Uppsala County, Sweden, 41 women who had secondary amenorrhea of more than 3 months’ duration were compared to 82 age-matched nonamenorrheic control subjects with respect to background variables of etiologic interest, especially psychogenic factors and weight loss.
