Implementation of V/f scalar control for speed regulation of a three-phase induction motor

This paper presents the experimental implementation of V/f scalar control for a three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor. The principal goal is to control the rotation speed set by a reference and to maintain it despite the presence of disturbances. Two implementation methods were developed: Open-loop scheme, which is commonly used in industry, and closed-loop scheme, less used but it offers higher performance characteristics. MATLAB/Simulink and DS1104 controller board from dSPACE platform were used to carry out real-time experiments and final implementation.
