Signal Processing Improving processing gain of UWB systems with NBI by signal parameters selection independent of TH codes

The method for the signal parameters selection independent of time hopping (TH) codes is presented to improve the processing gain (PG) of the single-user TH ultra-wideband (UWB) systems above a prescribed level. The UWB systems operate in the multi-path channel with narrowband interference (NBI), which is modelled as a zero-mean stationary random process. Binary pulse amplitude modulation as well as correlation receivers are used by the UWB systems. The effectiveness of this method is illustrated by an example. Copyright © 2005 AEIT.
