Scavenger Hunt Assignments in Academic Libraries

Abstract A literature review and sampling of information found on college and university libraries' Web sites reveal a wide difference of opinion on the effects of using library scavenger hunts to teach college students about the campus library. Conflicting views on the effectiveness of scavenger hunts as an educational activity are summarized. Both positive and negative views are compared to research-based literature on the topic.
