Computer modelling of collision processes in solids

Abstract In this paper we describe how the technique of computer modelling has been used to simulate dynamic problems in the field of ion-crystal interactions. It is the purpose of the paper to illustrate the advantages and limitations of the technique. This is achieved by discussing a number of applications which are of current interest: surface scattering, surface relaxation, radiation damage and channelling.
