SQEAK:A MobileMultiPlatform PhoneandNetworks Gesture Sensor

Thisresearch looks atone approach toproviding mobile phoneuserswith a simple lowcostrealtime user interface allowing themto control highly interactive public spaceapplications involving one user or a large numberofsimultaneous users.Inorder to senseaccurately thereal timehandmovementgestures ofmobile phoneusers themethod uses miniature accelerometers thatsendtheorientation signals over thenetwork's audio channel toa central computerfor signal processing andapplication delivery. This affords thatthereisminimaldelay, minimal connection protocol incompatibility andminimal mobile phone type or version discrimination. Without theneedformass usercompliance, large numbers ofuserscould begin to control public space cultural and entertainment applications using simple gesture movements.
