Leakage of water in distributing urban waterworks is a matter of concerns for its impacts on environment and daily human life. Water is not unlimited resource especially running and fresh water. The research, included in vast framework, intends to render some outcomes regarding the application of leak detection in pipelines. The kind of pipeline considered in this research is a zigzag one with bends. Leak detection speed and its magnitude are most significant because they allow to save money and time. Because of the zigzag configuration and the small section, it is not easy to do that for this case. This research proposes a comparison between two important techniques used for computing and detecting leakage in pipelines. They are FDM (Filter Diagonalization Method) and impedance method.
