An evaluation approach of carbon emission reduction caused by power interconnection based on integrated generation-transmission planning model

Transnational power grid interconnection is helpful for reducing carbon emissions. However, researches on the reasonable evaluation of carbon emission reduction caused by power grid interconnection are relatively limited. Most traditional approaches do not taken into account the influences of power grid interconnection on national power system planning. This paper proposes a novel evaluation approach of carbon emission reduction caused by power grid interconnection based on integrated transnational generation-transmission planning model. A case study is conducted on the Northeast Asia area, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
