PGMS: A P2P-Based Grid Monitoring System

A well-designed Grid monitoring system should be able to measure or instrument the performance of Grid resources, the status of Grid applications, and then publish these information for various application aims. P2P-based Grid Monitoring system (PGMS), based on peer-to-peer technology and GMA specification, is designed to monitor large scale and dynamically changed Grid system. In PGMS, the function of directory service is achieved by the P2P-based Grid Distributed Directory Service (PGDDS); in this way, a whole directory service is decentralized into some associated directory services that are peer-to-peer. Universal Resource Description Word (URDW) is a resource description method that adopts the thinking of quantifying and coding, and reduces the storage and communication overhead of resource description information.
