A Method of Angle Error Extraction for Monopulse Radar

A method of angle error extraction for monopulse radar is provided. IF direct sampling and digital down converting techniques are adapted in the new method. With this method, the coupling problem between azimuth and elevation channel occurred in channel emerging method is avoided, and also, the amplitude and phase imbalance between I and Q channel existed in analog down converting technique eliminated. It is compared with a traditional extraction method utilizing zero IF quadrature channels technique. Results show that the new method overcomes the non ideal null depth effect on angle error extraction of monopulse radar, and the performance is better than the traditional method.
