Development of a Novel Millimeter wave TR module for 1-D active phased array

Millimeter wave transmit-receive (TR) module is a crucial component for millimeter wave active phased array system. Precisely digital phase shifting, integration and miniaturization are all essential requirements for the TR module. A novel schematic, with frequency converter and integrated amplitude-phase controlling stage at intermediate frequency (IF), as well as its unique merits, are described here. Research efforts and tested results about this new-style TR module are also presented
