EQUIVALENTS OF WILL AND WOULD ININDONESIAN

The Research, is about Equivalents of will and would in Indonesian. The problem of the research is, What equivalents of will and would in Indonesian taken from novel “The Client” which is written by John Grisham and its Indonesian version “Klien” translated by Hidayat Saleh as the sources of data. The aim of the research is to find out Equivalents of will and would uses in Indonesian from novel “The Client” which is written by John Grisham and its Indonesian version “Klien” translated by Hidayat Saleh. This research used qualitative method. In this case, the writer collected, classified, and identified the data concerning with equivalents of English modal auxiliaries. Then, the writer analyzed and displayed the data. After analyzing the data from chapter I until Chapter X in my novel, the writer concludes that equivalents of English modal “WILL” is translated into : a) Akan b) Apakah And English WILL can also be c) not translated (Zero translation). Meanwhile The equivalents of English modal “WOULD” is translated into : a) Akan b) Apakah c) Hendak d) Ingin e) bisa f) mau g) mesti h) harus And English WOULD can also be i) not translated (zero translation).
