Mr. Swope explained a memo from Assistant City Attorney Jane Sebens regarding the status of a complaint prepared by the CBJ Law Department in the matter of initiation of a civil action, CBJ v Huntington, et.al. Mr. Swope also distributed an architects rendering of a building that Tlingit and Haida Central Council (T&HCC) is interested in constructing on the property, provided by Bill Martin. The T&HCC Executive Committee met on Sunday 3/21 and approved a decision to move forward with the purchase of the property. The source of the funds would be the T&HCC trust fund. The authority for expenditures of the trust fund is with the T&HCC Tribal Assembly (129 delegates). The T&HCC Tribal Assembly will meet April 21 and will take up the Executive Committee’s recommendation. The current property owner has indicated he would get site cleaned up of the litter by March 23, 2010.
