This study was undertaken to investigate the characteristics of diesel fuel added ultrasonic energy. We compared conventional diesel fuel with diesel fuel added ultrasonic energy in Branch Index result from ¹H-NMR spectrum and viscosity. Also. Droplet size measurements using Malvem system were made to evaluate the effect of ultrasonic energy. Having performed these experiments. we obtained the results as follows. 1. Branch Index and viscosity of diesel fuel was reduced as ultrasonic energy added time increased. 2. SMD of diesel fuel added ultrasonic energy was smaller than that of conventional diesel fuel. 3. SMD was reduced as injection pressure increased. 4. Regardless of the type of injector, SMD variation with distance from injector was proportional.
