THE COMPLETE PROJECT MANAGER

Project managers play a critical role in the success of architectural-engineering firms. They have responsibilities that may begin before project acquisition and continue beyond project close-out. They also have responsibilities relating to overall quality management, staff development, and professional activities. This paper suggests a set of standards of performance for project managers and outlines many of the ingredients necessary for successful project management. Common pitfalls occurring in the path to achieving quality projects are identified, and corrective stances are suggested.
