Tourists archive the 3D documentation of cultural heritage

Cultural heritage is the common wealth of humans, and every tourist has the right to treasure, enshrine and preserve their own memory of cultural heritage in all forms. Photos are the most common form, while the potentialities of the image-based 3D documentation for cultural heritage are nowadays very well-known among the professional. This article presents a convenient cost-effective approach for the tourist to build 3D model of cultural heritage not only for simple visualization, but for digital documentation. The aim is to let the tourists become the protectors of cultural heritage while enjoying the tour. An experiment is carried out to demonstrate the idea.
