Multiplexed and distributed optical fibre sensor systems

An extensive review of multiplexed and distributed transduction techniques applicable for use with optical fibre sensors is given. Emphasis is placed on sensors that appear to show promise for engineering applications. However, several examples of scientifically interesting sensing concepts, more applicable to specialist laboratory instrumentation, have been included to give a balanced view of this rapidly expanding field.
