Pavement Surface Repair Materials and Procedures: Training Program—Pothole Repair

This training program was prepared under project H-106 of the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP). It is intended for use by highway agencies and contracted maintenance firms. The program describes some commonly used materials and methods for making quality repairs to partial-depth spalls in portland cement concrete (PCC) pavements. This training program consists of slides and a narrative that detail various aspects of a partial-depth spall repair operation. The program can be presented to a group or can be used for individual review. Implementing the practices outlined here should help highway agencies increase the life of partial-depth spall repairs and improve the overall cost effectiveness of partial-depth spall repair operations.
