Design and Applications of a New Type of FFT Processor with High Efficiency

In this paper, we present a universal and efficient architecture of a pipelined FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) processor, which can enhance data throughput, and reduce the scale of the design. As an important part of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) implementation, the design of FFT processor touches the scale of the whole system. We applied this architecture to our DVB-T receiver to demodulate OFDM symbols for 2K/8K dual-mode. Further more, it can be applied conveniently in any other cases of using FFT, especially for multi-mode.
