SDN Based Secure Virtual Machine Migration In Cloud Environment

Cloud Computing is an emerging technology in the present day scenario. Services are offered to the users based on their requirement through the use of virtualization. When a user requests for a service, Virtual Machine(VM) is deployed to leverage the service on a particular host. In order to maintain normal load and avoid overloading of servers, load balancing is required. For load balancing the VMs are migrated to lightly loaded secured host. In order to migrate to the host security of the VM has to be taken care. Security is provided using software defined networks(SDN). In this paper VM migration is carried out using SDN controller. SDN controller maintains access control list of hosts and resource availability. Based on the two parameters mentioned VMs are migrated to another host. Security parameters such as data integrity, confidentiality is obtained to the user.
