A SHORT SUMMARY OF THE STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS RESEARCH CARRIED OUT AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY UNDER THE SPONSORSHIP OF THE OFFICE OF NAVAL RESEARCH

Abstract : Brief summaries are given of the 18 technical reports which describes the work accomplished. These reports are divided into groups containing the following phases of research: the moving loads on beams, the bilinear restoring force system, hydrodynamics of cylindrical containers, and the phase-plane methods. Two additional reports concern steady forced vibrations of a nonconservative system with variable mass, and a comparative study of pulse and step-type loads on a simple vibratory system.
