Large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of lung

Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma(LCNEC) is a high-grade pulmonary neuroendoerine tumor. Although LCNEC is categorized as a variant of large cell carcinoma, the biological behaviors of LCNEC resemble those of small cell lung cancer. LCNEC has histologic features of both neuroendocrine morphology and neuroendocrine differentiation. Because LCNEC has stronger invasion, surgery alone is not sufficient for the treatment. Muhidisciplinary therapies (including adjuvant chemotherapy) may help to improve the prognosis of LCNEC patients. Key words: Large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma; Clinicopathotogie feature; Prognosis
