There are, as we know, many ways of imagining globalization. They vary in terms of their empirical content, in terms of the structures of their conceptualization, in terms of the implicit or explicit periodizations which they envisage, and so forth. It is impossible, and probably undesirable, to legislate on one interpretation over others.
