This work deals with nanoalumina coatings by using atmospheric plasma spraying method to improve the corrosion resistance of pure AA7075 alloy. Corrosion protection ability has been studied for uncoated and coated specimens by optical microscopy (OM) and Potentiodynamic polarization methods in 3.5% NaCl. Corrosion parameters havebeen measured to know the protection efficiency of nanoalumina coatings. It is found from the polarization graph that the new alumina coatings have good corrosion protection efficiency especially for coating pure Al.It is also found that the uncoated Al samples react with the corrosive medium and undergo the corrosion.
