Low Overhead Downstream Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks

This paper presents a low overhead downstream routing protocol for wireless sensor networks.Each sensor node is assigned a downstream address and the next hop of a downstream packet can be inferred by the destination address.This protocol is applied to the downstream communication of TinyOS.The simulation results show that this protocol can effectively decrease the downstream routing overhead.At the same time this protocol displays less affect on upstream communication than the broadcast based downstream protocols.
