Design and implementation of PMSG based stand-alone wind energy system for three-phase four-wire loads

This paper deals with design and implementation of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) based stand-alone wind energy conversion system for three-phase four-wire loads. A three-leg voltage source converter (VSC) along with a battery energy storage system is used to control voltage and frequency. AT-connected transformer is used to provide stable neutral terminal for three-phase four-wire consumer loads. A systematic design procedure is described for such SWECS. A digital signal processor (DSP) is used to realize the control algorithm to control the operation of VSC. Test results are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of proposed PMSG based SWECS under various operating conditions.
