Accurate switching strategy of shunt reactive power compensation capacitor in 220kv substation

Closing shunt capacitors is an effective way to adjust reactive power in 220kv substation and improve voltage quality. If the unintended input is frequently input, the inrush current will cause great impact on the power system and even damage the equipment. In order to reduce the inrush current of shunt capacitors, the mathematical model of the actual system closing shunt capacitor is established. The three-phase shunt capacitor closing strategy when the inrush current is minimum is calculated and the effectiveness of the closing strategy is verified. The mechanical switch closing is analyzed. The dispersion and voltage synchronization measurement error, the method of reducing the error is given and the closing delay is calculated to ensure that the parallel capacitor can be accurately closed at a specific time, and the influence of the shunt capacitor closing current on the power system is reduced.
