Micro-Doppler simulator of bulk and micro motions for vehicle drivers

The driver's motion while driving is one of the important information that can measure the current state of the driver that is driver's attention, health, etc. In general, the driver does various additional activities in addition to driving operation. For example, operations such as audio or sun visor control, and even mobile phone in a moving vehicle can be the cause of dangerous situation of driver. As the radar technology develops, a study for sensing biological information through the micro motion such as respiration and heart rate of the driver has been proceeding as well as bulk motion like mentioned above. Unlike the bulk motion, biological information has the property of fine micro motion within a few millimeter. Micro motion can't be measured as the method for obtaining a common bulk motion and must obtain the data in a different way. In this paper, we present how to build a micro-Doppler simulator for the movement of the driver and propose a micro-Doppler characteristics for driver's movement using bulk motion data collected by the kinect sensor and micro motion data collected by the network analyzer.
