Traffic flow real-time detection method based on high-resolution image

The invention relates to a traffic flow real-time detection method based on a high-resolution image, which is used for traffic flow detection of urban roads. The detection method comprises the following steps on the basis of the high-resolution image which is collected in a real-time manner: step 1) setting an area of interest; step 2) extracting background of the area of interest through background substraction, carrying out gray-scale processing, and then carrying out binary processing; step 3) carrying out transverse scanning on the area of interest after the processing along the direction of traffic flow, carrying out transverse summation on brightness value, and sequentially storing; step 4) carrying out the processing of the step 1), step 2) and the step 3) on the current frame of the image, and extracting a brightness curve of the current frame; step 5) leading the extracted brightness curve value of the current frame to correspond to the background brightness curve value for calculating the difference and summating; and step 6) comparing the result obtained in the step 5) with a threshold, and judging whether vehicles exist or not. The traffic flow real-time detection method can lead the identification of the traffic flow of the urban roads to be more reasonable and accurate.
