Design and Analysis of Multichannel Two - Mode - Interference Wavelength - Division - Multiplexer

Beam progation method(BPM) is employed to investigate an integrated-optic multichannel wavelength division multiplexer/demultiplexer for single-mode fiber system. It is shown that the variation of branching angle of dual-channel MUX/DEMUX results in the parallel shift of all the channel wavelengths and that this fact allows the construction of multichannel two-mode-interference(TMI) MUX/DEMUX. Design and simulation of 4-channel TMI MUX/DEMUX are highlighted.
