Proportional-resonant current control for three-phase three-level rectifier

Among unity power factor converters, the three- phase three-level rectifier is becoming popular due to its low blocking-voltage stress on the power switches. The recently introduced proportional-resonant control strategy, capable of eliminating the steady-state control error, is proposed for the ac supply current of a rectifier. This control method can be applicable to carrier-based PWM method to ensure fixed switching frequency operation of the rectifier. The analysis, design and performance of the proposed controller are investigated. It shows the characteristics of simplicity, robustness, and good adaptability to load disturbance and supply voltage harmonic distortion.
