Thispaperpresents amethodforthe calculation ofFrequency andDuration(F&D)indices for electric powergenerating systems withenergy limited units. Several typesofenergy limited units arediscussed. Foran energy limited unit, acritical loadlevel atwhichthisunitis putintooperation isfoundby"peak-shaving" methodand thenthecumulative probability andfrequency arecomputed byconditional convolution. Themethodisillustrated by numerical examples.
